They generally decide to settle on a mid 60s Beatles vibe along the lines of “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” and “Eight Days A Week” with particularly spooky takes on Lennon / McCartney harmonies and Yardbirds-esque rippers led by the rasp of Mike Smith. it seemed that the biggest challenger to the Beatles phenomenon was the Dave Clark Five. What were these guys all about it? Who were they really? What on earth did the fans make of it all?
